High School Opportunities

Despite being a small school, TCSC is jam-packed with fun and interesting clubs for high school students to join. If you've ever had problems fitting in or making friends, prepare to be amazed at how easy it is to find something that meets your interests.
High school can be a really difficult time for students. The pressure from parents and teachers to perform well is magnified due to preparation for college and life beyond high school; this causes added anxiety for many students. However, joining a club or activity is a great way to ease that pressure and pursue a passion. An added bonus is the ability to make new friends. When young adults become friends with other similar-minded people, they form lasting friendships and connections that can last a lifetime.
Currently, our high school offers these clubs:

Band & Color Guard
The THS Band and Color Guard activities encompass concert band, jazz band, and auxiliary band (color guard). These activities are supervised by Mr. Skiba, and they each award one credit.

Between the Pages
Between the Pages is a book club sponsored by Mrs. Wesner.

Blue Crew Club
This club is sponsored by Mr. Robertson. It's a sort of pep club and meets during Resource period.

Chess Club
Care to play a round with me? Chess Club is all about having fun, learning to play, and practicing skills. It's sponsored by Ms. Dunn. and meets during the Resource period.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes
The FCA is sponsored by Ms. Mars and meets after school.

French Club
The French Club is open to students in French class (it also meets during class) and is hosted by Ms. Harrigan.

Freshman Mentors
This club isn't open to freshmen for obvious reasons, but that shouldn't stop you from joining in your later years. It helps with Blue Devil Kick Off and is hosted by Ms. Warner and Ms. Capshaw, and meets during Resource period.

Future Farmers of America (FFA)
The FFA offers training and experience for leadership in rural America, and is sponsored by Ms. Mars and Ms. Hartley. The club meets after school and takes part in a variety of activities. Learn more here!

Gaming Club
The Gaming Club isn't going to judge you, regardless of your preference--be it video games, card games, tabletop gaming.. it's dealer's choice for this club. It meets after school and is hosted by Mr. Robertson. Our esports lab is definitely worth seeing!

Gay Straight Alliance
Sponsored by Ms. Keogh, this after-school club promotes acceptance of student diversity.

German Club
Hallo! The German Club is open to students in German class and is sponsored by Ms. Warner. It meets during class time.

National Art Honor Society
Open to students with at least one year in an art class, the NAHS complete service projects in school and the community. It's hosted by Art teacher Mr. Tina and meets during Resource period.

National Honor Society
The NHS is open to students in honor classes and meets during Resource period. It is hosted by counselors Ms. Warner and Ms. Capshaw. Learn more here!

Publications
This "club" is really more of a class. It's hosted by Mr. Robertson and Mr. Henderson and consists of creating the yearbook and THS Action News. It is open to juniors and seniors and can be a one or two credit class.

Science Club
Mr. Gosnell is the head of this club. It meets after school, and students can earn points to attend a summer camp.

Spanish Club
Students in Spanish class can join this in-class club hosted by Mr. Henderson.

Sparks
The Sparks club learns how to manage stage lighting (lights in the auditorium). Mrs. Wallyn sponsors this club after school. Learn more here!

Student Council
The student council, the governing body of the high school, meets during Resource period and is hosted by Mr. Henderson.

Tipton Bass Anglers
This club participates in bass fishing tournaments and meets during Resource period with M. Hinkle.

Young Originals
This club has a class dedicated to it. Young Originals is an advanced choir and offers student tryouts in the spring. It's taught by Ms. Haynes.
